Sorry - can't make any direct recommendations. These classes are all very new.

What I can recommend is email the professor before signing up. Ask them about their social media experience. Do they have a blog? Do they have a Twitter account? A Facebook account? Check them out. And more importantly, find out more about their marketing background - what real businesses/organizations have they marketed online and have they ever used social media as a marketing tool. I always contact the professor before taking a class - they always email me back, usually they are excited to talk about the class and tell me more.

But the best thing you can do to learn more about social media is just get out there - read the blogs, follow influential leaders on Twitter, and ultimately become part of the conversation. There is a wealth of information online on the topic and to be quite honest, everything you will learn in a classroom can be found online for free. The value of formal learning here is that they round it all up for you.

I know this is not the recommendation you were looking for, but hope it helps nonetheless.

Hi Danielle,
I'm looking to take a course specifically on social media marketing, I know these are not recommendations but do you have any recommendations? If you have heard any feedback on any of them?
Thanks again!
